How many years have you been racing?
2009 will be my second full season.
Where did you first learn to ride your bike?
I got a bike for my birthday one year. I remember going to a park near my house and having my dad hold me while I rode, then he let me go, It didn't go over to well. So later that week I remember riding down my driveway and after many tries I did it and I was so excited. I didn't get that excited about riding until 6 years later when I did my first race.
Where is your favorite place to ride?
I like to ride a lot at Spring Mountain. It is about 2 miles from my house with a lot of riding. It has fast sections, technical sections and lots of good climbs since it is a ski area.
What is your favorite aspect of the sport?
I basically love everything about it. Traveling with friends to awesome places. Getting to do one of my favorite things on earth with other people who are just as crazy about it as me. Also the fuzzy feeling you get when you come across the finish line in first.
What is your strongest talent?
I like to think my strongest talent is dedication. I try to train and ride everyday and I just love being on my bike.
What is your favorite win/achievement?
I can't say I have a favorite. All of my races are different. They always have challenges that I have to overcome. Whether it be a technical rock section or a steep switchback climb. I love them all and don't like to pick favorites.
What is your goal in the sport?
I have a lot of goals. I would like to become a strong racer at a local and national level. I want to do many types of racing such as 24 hour solo's, multi-day stage races, cyclocross, etc.
Most essential racing/training gear.
For the races I've got to have my cheer section. They keep me going lap after lap, climb after climb. For my training I have to have my Ipod of course. It takes the place of my cheer section and always reminds me who I have to race against.
Other activities?
Skiing, dirt biking, golfing, basketball, baseball, and volleyball.
Worst job ever?
I have only had a handful of jobs and hope I never have to have a worst job, though I am sure I will.
Most inspiring Movie?
I borrowed it once from a friend and It made me want to get out and ride as soon as possible. It was called Solo 24 featuring Chris Eatough. I probably watched it about 5 times in the 4 days I had it. Then later that year I got to meet him at a race.
